Case of the Month: APRIL

Primary Bar with Ti Superstructure

The client requested a fixed bar with a removable superstructure to be designed for the maxillary arch on 2 new unilateral implants, while also engaging 2 existing legacy solid implants in the adjacent quadrant.

Based on the requirements, a fixed Titanium Primary Bar with Zest Locator attachments and a Telescopic Titanium superstructure was chosen, designed to engage the bar in quadrant 2 whilst allowing space to pick up the prosthetic caps of the legacy implants in quadrant 1.

The characteristics of this arrangement allow for a single profile that will incorporate a frictional fit between the two structures and securely house all 4 attachments to achieve a more balanced resilience. This design will also help assist the patient in being able to easily remove and engage the appliance without compromise of adequate retention.
